It may not be to everyone’s taste, but if you are interested in all things crocodile then the Crocodile Farm in Samut Prakarn is worth a visit. Founded in 1950 by the animal conservator Utai Youngprapakorn, the farm is currently one of the largest crocodile centers in the world, reportedly home to more than 60,000 of our toothy friends. One of their inhabitants is even a world record breaker. ‘Yai’ (meaning ‘big’ in Thai’) is the world’s largest captive crocodile. Yai measures over 6 meters in length and weighs over 114 kilos.

The farm is famous for its animal shows. Every hour a few brave members of staff stand up to entertain the crowd by wrestling with the crocodiles. One performer will even stick his head inside the mouth of one of these giant snappers.
