A day trip to the Lumpini Park is a great way to get out of the busy life of Bangkok. The park is in the middle of the Sathorn Business District, one of the busiest in the city and is an entire city block. It is bordered by Rama IV road on the south, Wireless Road on the East and Silom Road on the West. It is only a block away from the American Embassy and only a short walk from two subway stations as well as a block away from the Sky Train, the elevated commuter train. This makes Lumpini Park very easy to get to by Taxi, Train, or by foot.

Lumpini Park offers many things for people of many interests. There are areas that have fitness machines and there are areas with play ground equipment for children and many more things for people to do, some of which is shown and discussed below:

The park is awesome for a morning or evening run, which many people take advantage of in Bangkok. The park has paved roads just for walking and jogging which are marked every 100 meters for a total of 2.5 kilometers.k.

Lumpini Park has several lakes teaming with life, including fish, toads and turtles as well as VERY Large monitor lizards.

The monitor lizards ARE friendly, at least they are not known to bother with people. The are as big as 6 or more feet in length and many are found throughout the park.

The park is a great place to see Asian architecture:

Lumpini Park is a great park for a daily walk/jog, a weekend picnic with the family or just a visit during a brief stay in Thailand. I recommend this park be put on everyone's list of must see!
