Koh Chang is the biggest island of Thailand and is located in the Thai Gulf off the coast of Trat and not very far from Cambodia. From Bangkok the drive to ferry near Trat is about 4 hours by bus or car. You will need another hour for the ferry ride from Trat.

The interior of this island is quite mountainous and amazingly beautiful, having waterfalls fed by cool mountain rains.

But the coast is what brings most people to the island, having plenty white sand beaches and many tiny islets that are a snorkelers paradise.

This is a great destination to get far away from hectic modern life. There is quite a large variety of places to stay from expensive resorts to be pampered to low cost/low frill beach bungalows starting at about $15 USD.
