Victoria Harbor is a major tourist attraction, famous for its stunning panoramic skyline. Particularly popular is the Symphony of Lights, an amazing, light, laser and firework show, which is performed every night to music (weather permitting) at 8pm. The show lasts for around 20 minutes and involves 33 skyscrapers on both sides of the Harbor.

You can cross the Harbor via the underground Cross-Harbor Tunnel, but you don’t get to see any fireworks that way, so many people opt for a cruise on one of the one world-famous Star Ferries, or in a traditionally styled junk. Slowly crossing Victoria Harbor in one of these beautiful old boats gives you a glimpse back in time, to the past of the ancient orient.

Another great way to enjoy the Harbor is to talk a walk along the Avenue of Stars (Hong Kong’s version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame), in Tsim Sha Tsui. The Avenue features the hand prints and signatures from top stars in the Hong Kong film industry. There are over 100 stars honored, many of whom only serious Chinese film buffs will recognize, however most people will know the names of actors like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and director of Mission Impossible II, John Woo.
